About Old
German black/thrash metal band.
Formed in 2003 by Reaper, Doomhammer and Horus. The band was born to be a dedication to the old school black metal sound of the 80s and early 90s, of bands like Celtic Frost/Hellhammer, Slaugther, Bathory, Possessed, Darkthrone, Mayhem, Venom, Sodom, Destruction etc.
In 2004 OLD recorded their Blood Skull rehearsal tape, originally limited to 50 copies, but in cause of the great feedback from all around the world they raised the amount of tapes. They kept going as a pure rehearsal band til they recorded the Nocturnal Ritual 7 in summer 2004.
In the beginning of 2005 OLD signed to Tyrant Syndicate Records, a sub label of Peaceville Records, and recorded their first full length album Down With The Nails in the end of that summer.

German band Old released just an album, 2006's Down with the Nails: after its recording, attempted to record another, but lost the will sometime later and were put on old. This album is the same standard-tuned Punk/Death Metal of early Cetic Frost: expect no originality, just tentative cloning.

Everyone knows that if it hadn't been for Fenriz who heavliy endorsed them, noone would have ever given a toss about Old. And personally I think that Tangorodrim is a much better CF/HH-esque band than Old.

my like is number 666 hehe. i looked they in Bitterfeld some years ago with Nocturnal Breed etc. After the gig i was want buy the cd but was sold out. i asked the vocalist, he goes backstage and give me the cd. Still this release running up and down !
