I love punk but I find a lot of punk bands (especially in melbourne where I'm from) to all sound exactly the same. It's like an echo chamber and all these bands probably listen to each other so there isn't much creativity or originality. I get that they're punk bands, but Melbourne has some pretty diverse punk and rock bands that have really unique styles and sound but then we have a LOT of bands that just sound the same.

It gets really old after awhile. I love punk but a lot of these bands are just kinda boring. I don't mean to shit on Disco Junk for example but it's like listening to a shitty b-grade version of Amyl and the Sniffers. It doesn't have much in the way of personality or originality and isn't exciting in the least when you've heard this been done before a thousand times (and much better). I also feel like you can't express an opinion like mine without having people jump down your throat and get real pissy just because I don't openly love every band on this channel or in my local scene. Sorry guys but some bands just suck and let me tell you Punk isn't an excuse to suck.
