The lyrics hits me hard really. It reminds me of my British Ex-Boyfriend Michael Joseph Anthony Cummins. He helped so much in my life more than I could ever imagine. I will always remember the nice moments we had. I ended because our relationship is not going anywhere. To this day, I still have no idea why he cannot lay down the cards for me and my curiousity will takes a lifetime to find out.
My memory of this song is tied to my father, who used to play a cassette of this song.

Those were times, when I was growing up, where interesting and poignant music was surfacing seemingly all of the time. It was like a great competition for center stage.
I loved this song. But now it makes me cry because it describes my entire life. "Photographs and memories . . . all that I have are these."
The guitar break sounds like rain on a window
I like the way it just. ends. No big orchestral flourishes ... sort of like how some love affairs end ... suddenly and quietly.
At 19 when Jim died I just didn't realize how incredibly talented and hard working this man was. Loved all his songs way back when, but this song is so poignant.
