Review by Andrew T Crum

The Dave Stryker Quartet's album Big Room is a must-listen for any jazz enthusiast. With Stryker on guitar, Steve Nelson on vibraphone, Jared Gold on organ, and McClenty Hunter on drums, this album is a perfect blend of classic jazz and modern improvisation.

The album opens with the upbeat and catchy "Shadowboxing," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The quartet's chemistry is immediately apparent, and each musician shines in their respective solos. The title track "Big Room" is another standout, with its driving rhythm and intricate guitar work from Stryker.

One of the album's highlights is the quartet's rendition of the classic jazz standard "On Green Dolphin Street." Stryker's guitar playing is particularly impressive on this track, and Nelson's vibraphone adds a beautiful texture to the piece.
