About Louis Zachert

Born 1963 in Germany, Died on 3. August 2015 in Belgium. Owner of under the roof audio mastering studio, known as 'Passenger L ' in belgian electro-act Metroland Bio: 1981 First recordings (as a folk singer/songwriter) 1982 Purchased 1st synthesizer: Yamaha CS-30L. Until 1994, the "collection" grew up to more than 25 different synths and drum machines. 1985-1987 Studies: Computer Science and Electronic Music in Karlsruhe/Germany. 1988-1991 Released a "MIDI programming toolbox" for TurboPascal. Responsible for the European support for the very 1st professional PC based Digital Audio Workstation (Spectral Synthesis). 1991-1994 Sound and Recording engineer. Co-owner of "3klang" recording studios (near Stuttgart/Germany). Digital Audio Consulting (for various German recording studios, IBM, MusikMesse Frankfurt, ...) Very first mastering jobs using the "Spectral" DAW. 1993-1999 Freelance journalist for various pro-audio and music magazines (German KEYS magazine, AMS/Neve inHouse mag., ...) 1994-1996 Various software development jobs in the music industry (Quasimidi, Creamware) 1996-2000 Freelance Sound and Recording engineer (for different German record labels and recording studios). 2000-2012 Moved to Belgium in 2000. Until 2012, "multimedia software developer" for a Belgian software consultancy company. Continued to do "audio mastering" anyway... 2012-2015 UnderTheRoof - Audio Mastering. 1991-2015 !!! MASTERING !!!
