I have a pristine CD copy of that record, but somehow it sounds "right" with the 78 noise.
In 1960 I bought a copy of that 78 from the distributor.  However, the stamper was shot and it was unplayable.  I was shocked they still had one that late.

Love Bob Wills but that was the worst rendition of SA Rose ever. I was born and played in SA so I've performed and heard SA Rose a lot. It just goes to show that it takes a lot of luck. And timing.

"The San Antoino Rose"/"The Yellow Rose of Texas"/Emily Morgan was a black woman who seduced Santa Anna so that he Americans could liberate their people from Mexican tyranny...and then the Comanches kicked their asses....whatever.
The "New San Antonio Rose" has lyrics...
In my heart is a melody....I love hot black chicks!
