Heeding The Call is an album that showcases the talents of the Swedish power metal band, HammerFall. Released in 1998, the album features 10 tracks that are filled with catchy riffs, soaring vocals, and thunderous drums. From the opening track, "The Metal Age," to the closing ballad, "I Believe," Heeding The Call is a masterclass in power metal.
The album's lyrics are inspired by classic heavy metal themes such as battle, valor, and honor. The band's lead vocalist, Joacim Cans, delivers each line with passion and conviction, making the listener feel as though they are right in the middle of a battle scene.
The guitar work on Heeding The Call is phenomenal, with guitarists Oscar Dronjak and Stefan Elmgren trading blistering solos and riffs throughout the album. The rhythm section of Magnus Rosén on bass and Patrik Räfling on drums provides a solid foundation for the rest of the band to build upon.
