Stone In Love With You is the ninth studio album by the British band Beautiful South, released in 2000. The album is a collection of cover songs, ranging from classic soul and Motown to contemporary pop hits. The band's signature blend of witty lyrics, lush harmonies, and eclectic musical arrangements is on full display throughout the album.
The opening track, "You're the One That I Want," is a playful take on the Grease classic, with lead vocalists Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott trading verses and harmonies. The album's title track, a cover of the Stylistics hit, is a standout, with Abbott's soulful vocals backed by a lush string arrangement. Other highlights include a funky rendition of the Bee Gees' "How Deep Is Your Love" and a stripped-down acoustic version of the Pet Shop Boys' "Rent."
