The Stone Circus - The Stone Circus

Review by Juan Manuel Presutti

The Stone Circus album by Stone Circus is a classic piece of rock music that has stood the test of time. Released in 1969, this album is a must-listen for any fan of classic rock.

The album opens with the track "Mr. Grey", a hard-hitting rock song that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The guitar riffs and drum beats are powerful and energetic, making it impossible not to tap your foot along to the beat.

The album also features slower, more introspective songs like "Sunshine Girl" and "People (Let's Stop the War)", which showcase the band's versatility and emotional depth. The lyrics are thoughtful and meaningful, touching on themes of love, war, and the human experience.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "The Witch", a haunting song that features eerie guitar riffs and haunting vocals. This song is a perfect example of the band's ability to create a dark and brooding atmosphere through their music.

About The Stone Circus

This band was responsible for one of the rare and stranger Mainstream releases incorporating many diverse influences that don't always gell but certainly make for interesting listening. All the cuts are originals, written either by or a guy called Murphy, who presumably had some connection with the band, since some tracks are co-written by Caine and Murphy. The material is wide-ranging from the accessible psychpop of "Sara Wells

I hear some Santana, The Doors and Strawberry Alarm Clock influence on this album

Stone Circus released their self-titled and only LP on Mainstream Records in 1969. This obscure band plays a nice brand of melodic psychedelic rock. They also can rock pretty hard in spots and feature crunching guitars and swirling organ playing. Really nice bass playing as well. Another great gem from this era.

Sounds like Mr Grey has a serious flatulence problem once the song gets going....

What a trippin' discovery. Great recording where the bass player is the star.

Back then, even Bozo was tripping.

I bought this album too many years ago to remember. Loved it! It was totally different from what I was listening to at the time and started my adventure into music. I lost it years ago and am so glad to find it here. Thank you 13thfloorhendrix1 for upload. Reminds me of SAC!

If you dig trippy yet catchy psychedelic atmosphere, you might really like Aura Blaze. I released my first single "A Glass of Tears Half Empty" a few months back to critical acclaim and a great deal of positive feedback including worldwide radio airplay, inclusion on various indie promo compilations, and being featured on the TouchTunes jukebox database, playing on 60,000+ machines across the United States. I would love to continue expanding this momentum as my debut album nears completion. If you have a little time and feel like discovering some new music, please take a listen to the stuff on my channel. If you like what you hear, connect with me on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/aurablazemusic). Hope to hear from some of you! Thanks, cheers!
