Why does this song sound better in 1.25x speed?

Arguably, the Best song and strongest group vocals that Steps have ever recorded, yet not a huge individual seller in the UK charts. It deserved more. Far outstrips the 2002 cover version, but the poorer cover does prove that it was a catchy song.
