Review by POCO DROM

Now You Shake, the album by Ray Columbus & The Invaders, is a classic rock and roll masterpiece that captures the essence of the genre. The album features 12 tracks that showcase the band's incredible talent and energy, with each song delivering a unique blend of rock, pop, and R&B.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "She's a Mod," a catchy tune that became a hit in New Zealand and Australia in the mid-1960s. The song's upbeat tempo and catchy chorus make it an instant classic, and it's easy to see why it became one of the band's most popular songs.

Another highlight of the album is "Till We Kissed," a soulful ballad that showcases Columbus' powerful vocals. The song's heartfelt lyrics and beautiful melody make it a standout track on the album, and it's easy to see why it became a fan favorite.

About Ray Columbus & The Invaders

New Zealand's biggest pop act of the early sixties. They came from Christchurch where they cut their teeth playing R&B for the US servicemen stationed in the city for operation Deep Freeze. They moved to Auckland in 1963 and signed to Eldred Stebbing's Zodiac label and had a series of hits over the next few years, the biggest being which went to number one in Australia as well as New Zealand, and which sold over 50,000 copies in 1965 (5 x Platinum in NZ terms). They split in late 1965, although reformed for a "farewell tour" in the 1990s.

Hi Ray, great to hear all the your numbers from forever, plus 'Finding Out' and 'Mad at Me' where Ron Peel on bass and me (Denis Gilmore) on drums recorded them in the old Zodiac Studio for the 'Original Numbers' LP, thanks again and hope you are well and still entertaining. Still have the LP in mint condition. Cheers Denis
