Anticipating is the fourth studio album by American new wave band Motels, released in 1982. The album was produced by Val Garay and recorded at Sunset Sound Recorders in Hollywood, California. The album features the hit single "Only the Lonely", which peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The album showcases the band's signature sound with Martha Davis' distinctive vocals and the use of synthesizers and guitar riffs. The songs on the album are a mix of upbeat pop tracks and slower ballads, showcasing the band's versatility.
