Review by laminate floor

Dreams Of Eschaton by Manilla Road is a masterpiece of heavy metal music. The album, released in 1987, showcases the band's exceptional musicianship and songwriting skills, and is widely regarded as one of their best works.

The album opens with the title track, "Dreams Of Eschaton," which sets the tone for the rest of the album with its epic, atmospheric sound and powerful vocals. The guitar work on this track, as well as throughout the album, is exceptional, with intricate riffs and solos that showcase Mark Shelton's incredible talent.

Tracks like "Death By The Hammer" and "The Ninth Wave" are classic examples of Manilla Road's unique blend of heavy metal and progressive rock. The songs are complex and layered, with shifting time signatures and intricate arrangements that keep the listener engaged from start to finish.

The album also features some of the band's most memorable tracks, including "The Fires Of Mars" and "Triumph Of The King," which are both epic in scope and sound. The latter, in particular, is a standout track, with its soaring vocals and powerful guitar work.

Un sogno, letteralmente che pezzo... Non tutti i gruppi hanno la stessa fortuna.. grandissimi Manilla Road, onore a queste leggende semisconosciute... ❤️

This song is kind of sad. Its like a wish to leave earth and all the pain of life behind and go to a kind of paradise. I also interpret the voice going "have you found it is it really there?" and "have you lost all of your pride?" As a concerned friend trying to wake someone up from falling into a drug induced dream world and into death. Into a shared fantasy world that they both dreamt about to escape a life of pain and isolation. Maybe that's sadder than it was intended but that's my interpretation.

I traversed through the galaxy
To come to this place
A wild envisioned dream of mine
Tolive deep in space
A course that I have set myself
I will be strong
For however long it takes
To reach my final destiny
I will be free
And now unto me
Venusian Sea

I've got to it alone
There'll be no help
In the danger zone
I've got to give it my all
Everything that I've lived for
Venusia my dream

I traversed through the galaxy
To come to this place
A wild envisioned dream of mine
Tolive deep in space
A course that I have set myself
I will be strong
For however long it takes
To reach my final destiny
I will be free
And now unto me
Venusian Sea
Just like a dream
Now I believe
A city beneath
Venusian Sea

What do you see?
What do you care?
Have you found it?
Is it really there?

I your own mind
For the rest of all time
Have you lost all of your pride?
In your life
Venusia my dream

I want this played at my funeral.
Like Nothing else Matters by Metallica, they'll be played when the coffin is carried to the longboat.
