Review by Francisco Fonseca

Wishy Washy Woman, the latest album by Jimmy Rabbit, is a soulful and bluesy collection of tracks that showcase the artist's impressive range and skill. The album features 10 songs that are a mix of original compositions and covers, with Rabbit's distinctive voice and guitar work at the forefront of each track.

The album opens with the title track, a slow-burning blues number that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Rabbit's voice is full of emotion and his guitar playing is both tasteful and powerful. Other standout tracks include "Broke Down Man," a gritty and raw blues tune that showcases Rabbit's ability to tell a story through his music, and "I Can't Quit You," a soulful ballad that features some of Rabbit's most impressive guitar work.

The album also features a number of covers, including "Crosscut Saw" and "I'm Tore Down," which Rabbit makes his own with his unique style and interpretation. Throughout the album, Rabbit is backed by a talented group of musicians who provide a solid foundation for his vocals and guitar playing.

KLIF DJ turns into a rock star. Naturally, the radio station played this song a lot. KLIF was the top radio station in Dallas (1190am) at the time.

The Rabbitt used to play this on his show on 50,000 watt KLIF-1190 in Big D when I was just a teen. He and Charlie Van Dyke were major DJs in the mid-60s, and my inspiration for being a radio junkie and pursuing broadcasting as a career. Too bad "Wishy Washy Woman" isn't a great song and doesn't hold up. 55 years later. However, his bigger hit "Pushover" still rocks and was probably punk or garage rock before someone dreamed up the category. Also his band Positively 13 O'Clock recorded the DEFINITIVE kick-ass version of "Psychotic Reaction" on Hanna-Barbera Records. Even the B-side was psychotic! It blows the national hit version off the dial. His should have been the chart winner. Rabbitt RULES!

I used to hear The Rabbitt play the A-side "Wishy Washy Woman" on his show at night when I was a teen. Neither side holds up that well today. However, his other big Dallas hit single "Pushover" should have been a major hit with the right promotional $$$. It sounded amazing on KLIF-1190 in Dallas. He also recorded the DEFINITIVE version of "Psychotic Reaction" by Positively 13 O'Clock on Hanna-Barbera Records (recorded in Tyler Texas at Robin Hood Brian's studios.) The competing one that was a national hit is limp in comparison.

Suspiciously like Pushover - not that that's a bad thing.
