Review by Sidney Graves

Without A Safety Net: Alive She Cried is a live album by Jim Morrison and The Doors that captures the raw energy and intensity of the band's performances. The album features recordings from various concerts and showcases the band's improvisational style and Morrison's powerful vocals.

The album begins with a blistering version of "Roadhouse Blues" that sets the tone for the rest of the record. The band's musicianship is on full display throughout the album, with standout performances from guitarist Robby Krieger and keyboardist Ray Manzarek. Morrison's stage presence and poetic lyrics are also highlights of the album.

One of the standout tracks on the album is the 13-minute epic "The Celebration of the Lizard," which features Morrison's spoken-word poetry over a psychedelic instrumental backing. The track showcases the band's experimental side and their willingness to push boundaries.

They never made a bad record live or otherwise and they were so way ahead of their time. I had this on cassette back in 80s. What a flawless version actually better than studio version. I give it on a scale of 1 through 10 a fucking 20

Love how Ray makes the organ sound like it's dropping acid.

Tight as a drum! Not having a bass player did nothing to stop this band live! This ROCKS!

I always felt like this song was about a killer who is driving a girl who he’s about to actually I guess drive his car into the ocean with and when he says that they’re swimming to the moon he means that they’re swimming to the reflection of the moon in the water so when Jim says let’s swim to the moon he means you know we’re falling deeper into the water in which we’re both dying so yeah I always love what he does with the lyrics and the difference of rotations one can take from his music

I saw The Doors on this tour in 1970 at Cobo Hall and the concert was incredible. They did not do this song, as I recall, but they were tight and all of them were in top form. This is one of their many great tunes.
