Jacques Brel - Fondation Brel

Review by Henry Kobutra

Fondation Brel, the album by Jacques Brel, is a masterpiece that showcases the legendary Belgian singer-songwriter's talent and artistry. Released posthumously in 1981, the album features some of Brel's most iconic songs, including "Ne me quitte pas," "Amsterdam," and "La chanson des vieux amants."

The album is a testament to Brel's poetic genius and his ability to capture the human experience through his music. His powerful voice and emotive delivery make every song on the album a moving experience, whether it's the melancholic "Jef," the playful "Le Moribond," or the haunting "Vesoul."

The arrangements on the album are also noteworthy, with lush orchestration and backing vocals that enhance the emotional impact of Brel's lyrics. The album's production quality is superb, with every instrument and vocal track balanced perfectly.
