Review by Michael David MILLER

Jaco Pastorius' Live In Italy Honestly album is a must-listen for any jazz enthusiast. Recorded in 1986, this live performance showcases Pastorius' incredible talent on the bass guitar. The album features a mix of original compositions and covers, all of which are played with impeccable precision and soulful energy.

Throughout the album, Pastorius demonstrates his mastery of the bass guitar, seamlessly transitioning between melodic solos and funky grooves. His bandmates, including drummer Toss Panos and keyboardist Delmar Brown, provide a solid foundation for Pastorius' virtuosity, creating a cohesive and dynamic sound.

One standout track is the opening song "Donna Lee," a Charlie Parker classic that Pastorius infuses with his own unique style. The audience can be heard cheering and clapping in appreciation throughout the track, a testament to Pastorius' ability to captivate and engage his listeners.

Another highlight is the ballad "Three Views of a Secret," which showcases Pastorius' ability to convey deep emotion through his playing. The song builds to a powerful crescendo, leaving the listener feeling moved and inspired.
