Halcyon still playing..Hellsgate recorded i think in 1958 and kuma Rodney band was the first on CD in the late 1990s..

This is Halcyon yes they did exist through the seventies also the eighties nineties ,noughties and still exists today..in fact a few weeks ago they celebrated their DIAMOND ANNIVERSARY 50 years. They were founded by the late Selwyn Walters a government Minister in the early seventies and have won the local National Panorama competition eleven times.

Also ,the description says that you are listening to one of the only known records to have come out of Antigua & Barbuda. Which genre of music are you speaking about. If is steelband there is also the Harmonites Steed Orchestra album "This Land". Then if you are talking about other genres of music such as calypso then there many records albums from many artists and or calypsonians such as King Short Short,Swallow, Zero ,King Obstinate, Latumba The Mighty Junction and bands such as Laviscount Brass. Its also possible that may be a recording from Rising Sun Steelband

We just saw the Halcyon Steel Orchestra playing live at Curtain Bluff Resort in Old Town, Antigua. They were excellent - several of the songs were in minor keys and were so moving. Excellent! And friendly guys, too.
