The self-titled album by GUNSHIP is a captivating and nostalgic trip through the sounds of the 80s. The album is filled with catchy synth hooks and powerful guitar riffs, creating a unique blend of electronic and rock music that is both energetic and emotional.

From the opening track "Woken Furies," the album sets the tone for a journey through a cyberpunk world filled with neon lights and dark alleys. The vocals by Alex Westaway are haunting and powerful, perfectly complementing the driving rhythms and soaring melodies.

  • Released for Cassette Story Day in a print run of 100 copies.
  • The tape version contains April Towers' remix of "The Mountain" in lieu of the remixes on the other physical copies. Tape technology was not hi-tech enough to fit them on, so it was decided to put a fresh remix on.
  • The B-Side includes code for a C64 computer game.
  • GUNSHIP is a neon soaked, late night, sonic getaway drive, dripping with luscious analogue synthesizers, cinematic vocals and cyberpunk values, exploding from the front cover of a dusty plastic VHS case which has lain forgotten since 1984. Created by Dan Haigh, Alex Westaway and Alex Gingell, GUNSHIP is an evolution of the of the recently popularised synthwave genre, which was originally started by Rosso Corsa records & The Valerie Collective artists.
  • GUNSHIP is more of a story than a soundtrack, written large across an eighties action cinema screen, where the narrative interweaves romance, hope, fear, technology, the threat of nuclear obliteration, and ultimately the need to celebrate life. Both bleak and dystopian at times but also progressive, uplifting and danceable.
  • The new album also features guest vocals by John Carpenter, Charlie Simpson (Fightstar), Lou Hayter (New Young Pony Club), Martin Grech, and Stella Le Page. Upcoming remixes include Miami Nights 1984, Make Up And Vanity Set, April Towers and Carpenter Brut.
  • Promotional CDr in PVC sleeve w/ full color glossy paper insert
  • Gatefold Cover with matte black sleeve and pink metallic foil.
  • 2 x 180g 12" heavyweight vinyl.
  • One Disc is hosued in a printed inner sleeve that shows a fictitious newspaper article on both sides.
  • The Vinyl Labels just shows the Gunship Logo and the numbers of the discs and of the Record Sides.
  • Vinyl jacket is made of semi-translucent black plastic folded and assembled similarly to an old Floppy Disc. Information stickers are haphazardly applied to front and back for effect. Jacket opening is along the top edge with a thick paper sleeve inside.
  • Jacket has no barcodes or label codes. (Is identified as HITH002LP on the order packing slip.) Vinyl record itself has no inscriptions or markings, however the sticker on the front identifies this release as GSLP001 by the band. Distributor Townsend Music Ltd lists as item 65045.
  • Included digital download card contains a list of cheat codes for "Gunship," made up of a list of classic codes used throughout video gaming history.
  • Back sticker lists this release as "VOIGHT-KAMPFF COMPATIBLE," (reference to the 1982 film Blade Runner,) and complete with an "Official Gunship Seal of Quality" (as a spoof on the seal used by Nintendo on all of its official products.)
  • Exclusively sold on Gunship's store opened for pre-order on 05/20/2016 and released on 08/07/2016.
