Review by Joko Sanudin

Guaco Histórico is a stunning album by the Venezuelan band, Guaco. The album features a collection of their greatest hits, reimagined and re-recorded with a fresh sound and new arrangements. The band's unique blend of salsa, merengue, and pop is on full display in this album, and it's clear that Guaco has mastered their craft over the years.

The album opens with "Lágrimas No Más," a lively track that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The band's brass section is particularly impressive here, adding a vibrant energy to the song. "Lágrimas No Más" is followed by "Lágrimas" and "Lágrimas Negras," two ballads that showcase the band's ability to create emotional and moving music.

Other standout tracks on the album include "Cepillao," "Escultura," and "Si Me Das," all of which have been given new life with fresh arrangements and updated production. The album also features collaborations with other Latin music legends, including Oscar D'León and Gilberto Santa Rosa.
