About Gregory Sagar

Greg Sagar grew up moving around California, eventually settling in the Bay Area. Its a mystery how he makes music. Playing left-handed (upside down), he couldnt standardize his approach if he wanted. His work comes from being in touch with his subject matter  the outcome of an innate sensibility. Absorbing aspects of Flamenco, Andean and a touch of Brazilian along the way, he found in them a connecting thread to places experienced directly in his earliest years. The lyrical phrase and savored note  learned from the Blues  are intrinsic to his sound.
