Review by Sacha Maxwell

Erik Austin Deerly's new album, Children of the Ocean, is a beautiful and captivating work of art that showcases his exceptional musical talent. From start to finish, this album takes listeners on an emotional journey through a variety of moods and styles.

The album's opening track, "Ocean's Anthem," immediately sets the tone with its haunting melody and atmospheric soundscapes. Deerly's vocals are powerful and emotive, and the lyrics are both poetic and thought-provoking.

The album's title track, "Children of the Ocean," is a standout song that features Deerly's signature acoustic guitar work and a catchy chorus that will stay in your head long after the song is over. The song's message about the importance of protecting our oceans is timely and urgent, and Deerly's impassioned delivery makes it all the more impactful.

Other standout tracks on the album include "The Way Home," a beautiful ballad that showcases Deerly's impressive vocal range, and "Lost in Time," a haunting, introspective song that features Deerly's intricate guitar work and evocative lyrics.

Notes

This is introspective, instrumental, electroacoustic music based around a central theme–something Erik rarely does. The performances are each inspired by the life and death struggle taking place in our oceans, and the influence of man in areas like the Faroe Islands, Taiji, the Solomon Islands, the Arctic, and the Southern Ocean.
