Review by Luis Fernando Kalfels

The album "Die Radio Sonate" by Dieter Roth is a masterpiece of experimental music. The album features a collection of recordings made by Roth between 1967 and 1974, which were originally aired on various radio stations in Europe. The recordings are a fascinating blend of spoken word, sound effects, and music, all woven together into a complex and mesmerizing tapestry.

Roth's approach to music-making was highly original, and his use of found sounds and unconventional instruments gives the album a unique and otherworldly feel. From the eerie soundscapes of "Radio Sonata No. 1" to the playful melodies of "Radio Sonata No. 4," the album showcases Roth's talent for creating music that is both thought-provoking and enjoyable.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Radio Sonata No. 3," which features a haunting spoken-word performance by Roth himself. His voice is layered over a backdrop of ominous sound effects, creating a sense of unease that is both unsettling and captivating.
