Detonation, the latest album by Dave Fields, is a powerhouse of blues-infused rock that is sure to delight fans of the genre. Featuring Fields' signature guitar work, along with his gravelly vocals and a tight rhythm section, this album is a tour de force of hard-hitting, high-energy music.

From the opening track, "Changes in My Life," to the closing number, "Anticipating You," Detonation is a non-stop ride of blues-rock goodness. Fields' guitar playing is particularly impressive, showcasing his technical prowess and his ability to inject emotion and feeling into every note.

Too many good guitar players should learn to just "shut up and play"; this does not apply to Dave Fields for two reasons: 1) he is a GREAT guitar player and 2) he sings pretty well. As a bonus, add in advanced song writing skills, which include good lyrics and musically complex structures, and top everything off with band mates that understand how to embellish each other's performances.I've been around music for a very, very long time, so it's not unusual for me to hear riffs or note combinations that remind me of other songs or musicians. (Is there a mathematical limit to the number of combinations available from the 12-note scale?) Anyway, I hear traces of Hendrix and Bonamassa and others here: great stuff!
