Review by Dani Cheshire

Clark Terry With Peewee Claybrook Swing Fever is a delightful album featuring the legendary jazz trumpeter Clark Terry and his band Swing Fever, along with saxophonist Peewee Claybrook. The album is a perfect blend of classic swing and modern jazz, with each musician bringing their unique style to the table.

The album kicks off with the upbeat and lively "Perdido," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. Terry's trumpet playing is as smooth and effortless as ever, while Claybrook's saxophone adds a touch of soulful blues to the mix. The rhythm section, consisting of piano, bass, and drums, keeps things swinging along at a steady pace.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Mood Indigo," a classic Duke Ellington tune that is given a fresh new interpretation by Terry and his band. The slow, sultry melody is perfect for Terry's warm and mellow trumpet tone, while Claybrook's saxophone adds a touch of melancholy to the mix.

Another highlight of the album is "Stompin' at the Savoy," a fast-paced and energetic tune that showcases Terry's virtuosic trumpet playing. The rhythm section keeps up with Terry's lightning-fast runs, creating a thrilling and exhilarating musical experience.
