About Chambre Jaune

Chambre Jaune, an obscure underground Rock group, was founded in Hengelo (Holland) by Andre Zweers and Jacqueline Peters in 1983. Early December 1984 the first demo tape appears. In 1986 Chambre Jaune, has now developed into a trio, in addition to Peters and Zweers they are joined with guitarist Andy. On the first mini album "Oscar H. Octopus In Mortal Combat With Judith W. Carrot" they get help from producer Theo van Eenbergen. The album appears on their own label, Jigsaw Media. The promo single "Frits" and the "Blessings Of A Hatchman" LP, again, self released in 1987. The Group has now found a real drummer in the person of Ronnie Wensink. In 1988 the third album, "Hugging The Head" gets excellent reviews, both at home and abroad. The music of the four can be described as avant-garde-noiserock spiced with some post punk vibes. In 1989 record company Schemer, that also have a number of Dutch alternative Guitar bands (including Alabama Kids, Spasmodique, Lul) in its stable, shows interest and offers the group a contract. The fourth album "Better Dead Than Alien" is the result of this. Guitarist Andy is replaced by Jacob Raatjes in 1991. The four release the single "KC/I Feel Resent
