Brian McLane - Shadow Send

Review by Julie Zacek

Brian McLane's latest album, Shadow Send, is a masterpiece that showcases his exceptional talent as a musician and songwriter. The album is a blend of various genres, including rock, folk, and country, and each track is a testament to the artist's versatility.

From the opening track, "Shadow Send," to the closing number, "The Longest Night," every song is a delight to the ears. McLane's lyrics are poignant and thought-provoking, and his vocals are soulful and emotive. The instrumentation is equally impressive, with each instrument adding depth and texture to the music.

Standout tracks on the album include "The Price We Pay," a haunting ballad that explores the cost of love and loss, and "Wildfire," an upbeat rocker that showcases McLane's guitar skills. "The Edge of the World" is another gem, with its catchy chorus and infectious melody.

Hey, I knew this guy, played some gigs with him back in the 80s when we were young turks, ha!
, here's what's cool, he recorded all this on his own, engineer, played and sang all the
stuff in this little room with a Tascam 8 track tape recorder and mainly DX7. Nice guy but very quiet, almost a recluse.
Later he wrote stuff for others but just never really hit the big times .Have no idea where or what he is now, long time ago.
Oh well, the beat goes on, lad de da de da
