Review by John Pollard

Bonnie Pointer II is an album that showcases the talents of Bonnie Pointer, a singer and songwriter who rose to fame in the 1970s as a member of the Pointer Sisters. Released in 1979, this album features a mix of disco, funk, and soulful ballads that highlight Bonnie's powerful voice and dynamic range.

The album opens with "Premonition," a funk-infused track that sets the tone for what's to come. Bonnie's vocals are soulful and commanding, and the song's driving beat and catchy chorus make it an instant classic. "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)" is a funky disco cover of the classic Four Tops hit that showcases Bonnie's ability to put her own spin on a familiar tune.

Other standout tracks on the album include "Free Me from My Freedom," a heartfelt ballad that showcases Bonnie's emotive vocals, and "When I'm Gone," a funky disco track that's sure to get listeners moving. The album closes with "More and More," a soulful ballad that highlights Bonnie's range and versatility as a vocalist.

I *love* this closing track of Bonnie's 2nd album. The heavy metal/disco hybrid (With blistering guitars by Benny Schultz and Tracey Singleton) is nothing short of *brilliant!*

Idk why Bonnie wanted to leave The Pointer Sisters but her success was minimal compared to the heights of "The Pointer Sisters ". She could've done solo projects and still been part of them but only they know why...RIP June,Bonnie ??????

Are people who are posting deaf or hard of hearing? I love Bonnie Pointer and I love the Pointer Sisters but the person singing this song is NOT Bonnie Pointer. Ms. Pointers voice was not only strong and dynamic but her pitch and her range were just as impressive unlike the person who is singing on this track.
I have the original Vinyl record and the original CD of this song and this is not Ms. Pointer singing on this sound track. This track sounds awful.

we had this album "ten four" a compilation of disco music from wea records which includes this song, working my way back to you girl by the spinners, funky town by lipps inc., and some love songs like longer by dan fogelberg to name a few back in '79- '80. i was just a kid then but the memories still remain and mind you, we still have that vinyl long play record in our possession. ?❤❤❤
