Review by Carlos Ríos

Avarus' album Horuksen Keskimmäisen Silmän Mysteerikoulu is a mesmerizing journey into the depths of experimental music. From the opening track, "Sisäinen Vapaus," the listener is transported to a sonic landscape that is both otherworldly and hypnotic.

The album features a variety of instruments and sounds, including electronic beats, distorted guitars, and ethereal vocals. The tracks are layered with intricate textures and rhythms that create a sense of movement and progression throughout the album.

One standout track is "Opetuslapsi," which begins with a haunting melody that builds into a driving rhythm. The track is a perfect example of Avarus' ability to create a sense of tension and release through their music.

About Avarus

Psychedelic and improvised noise-folk band from Tampere, Finland. Avarus was formed in Tampere, Finland in 2001 by members of bands The Anaksimandros and Pylon. The group has gotten larger and looser (including folks from Kiila, Munuaissymposium 1960 and Kemialliset Ystävät), but the spirit is still the same. There are about 10 core members in Avarus in three different cities, and the number of occasional members is 10-20. But it's not at all important to know who's playing and when. It's about a collective sound, a play or a game.
